ok, I think I found you on FB.

I just did a bad thing and went through my old pictures of the garden, and realized how much I lost this winter. Also lost a varigated leaf Iris. Ugh!!!

Yes, Robin I do have some to divide this fall. The old fashioned ones grow strongly here so I have your solid yellow and a mauve called Dauntless. The hybrids are more recent, but there are a few that could get trimmed like the orange and the purple & white streaked ones (ink patterns). The neighbors across the street have asked if I want any of their blue on blue & really dark dark ones. They are not gardeners & don't care what I do with them. I think you can send your e-mail to me through garden-share, but if not, look up winlass on facebook & private message me there.

Yvonne,

Since you are in zone 9, I don't see why you couldn't. Though if you don't get any cold spells, you might have to hide them for a few months in a cool space.

So beautiful... I lost 7 of my 9 Iris I had. They were with the place when we bought it. It's heart breakings. The winter killed so much, on top of what I lost prior to winter.

They were all old. :(

Victoria, if you ever want to share, I believe the ones along your fence line look similar.

Lorraine, yours are beautiful also. If you are ever going to split them and want to share let me know.

Divine is really special. This is it's first year at my house & I did give it one of the best locations. (6 hours sun) A strong grower.

Can't get enough photos. I look at them all winter & share them with my mother & anyone else on Facebook. This is Cherry Blossom Song with Toucan Tango & somehow, Saphira was in there.

can i grow iris in pots?

Can you turn the contrast on your camera to darken the photo? The yellows & whites will come out clear & crisp instead of fuzzy. I just found out mine has a specific setting for flower portraits! It focuses up real close & blurs out the background a little. Interesting to play with these techie toys!Sambucca
