Thanks I will give it a try. It will get cut down when the field gets cut anyway. I may as well try.

Sharon, it's always iffy to move bulbs in leaf. You can do it though, I have, if you dig up the entire rootball with soil intact. Plant it where you want it, and water it well. It may wilt but with no or very little root disturbance it should continue growing. Give it a try

Can spring bulbs be moved while blooming? I spyed a yellow flower out in the field and would love to move it to my flower bed.

For starters, where do you start. I bought this place two years ago and it had nothing but rock around the entire house. So far I have put in a flower bed, garden bed, and the start of a dry creek bed that will have water flow through it during the rainy months. I have edged the yard with bark mulch and planted trees that are very small. So where do I start? I love the woods and like a natural space but I also love color?

I found the perfect group for me, the beginners corner. Now I can ask questions and get a game plan for my own yard. So now where to begin?

Yes, yes, and yes.    The yellow ones, like 'Moonshine', that have the big "dinner plate" flowers are clumpers, the rest of them, like 'Paprika' and the other colors will run if it gets lots of water.    They are best suited for a drier situation, or if with lots of water-grow taller perennials or shrubs in them so they will be like a groundcover, with the taller risers up above the foliage and flowers of the yarrow.    They can be difficult in a mixed border.  Use them en mass.

Even if you buy the yarrow from a garden store, it can be invasive???  I just planted some pink too but I usually have terrible luck w/yarrows, so we shall see what happens......
