how about a group about the different birds that come into our gardens?

Marlene, my stepmother always said that the true harbinger of spring is not the robin but the red-winged blackbird.
Hi, everyone! I thought I would share one of the scenes from my backyard. Doves and house sparrows getting what fell to the ground.
Hope you get some nesters in your pretty new bird house Lillian. How fun to see the spring birds coming in. We have a nesting pair of Oak Titmice in one of the bluebird boxes. They just finished building the nest and I'm anxious to see eggs.
Lillian, love the birdhouse. Has anyone moved in? :)
Marlene, your bird is a female red winged blackbird...so different from the male but still a very pretty bird. Looks like the photo was taken in a grassy pond like area which is where they nest.
That sounds great Randy going for drives looking it's all in the excitement of not knowing what you will see !! enjoy your trips stay safe.
Your right Lillian I'll try and keep my eyes on the road and not drive in the direction I'm looking if my gaze should stray. I have been driving a lot of the backroads so I can stop in the middle of the road and just watch. Sometimes the drives are longer then they should be but that's the fun of being retired.
Randy sounds like you look up and about and on the lines instead of straight ahead LOL very easy to do hey if you are a keen bird enthusiast. A GS friend sent me the birdhouse I just love it too!!!! I have painted the post of house pink and added broms up the pole this is a before shot.
Very handsome bird Marlene, love the birdhouse LIllian! The activity in the garden has slowed down but I see so many birds as I drive through the country with both hands on the wheel.
