Butterflies and Mosquitoes
I have MIlkweed plants in my garden and usually see lots of cats and Monarchs. However, this past summer there were very few. I live in Houston and sprayed garlic oil to repel mosquitoes. The manufacturer said it would not harm beneficials, but many people do not consider caterpillars to be beneficial. Does anyone know if garlic oil repels butterflies as well?

Haha- I have many feral cats that prowl my yard all hours of night and day. Think garlic oil would keep them away?

I don't know about the garlic oil, but my butterfly population was down last summer as well. The number of varieties I've seen so far this spring has been limited. But it's still early here in the midwest. I'm also rural,and we could be getting an over spray from farmers feilds.
