brooders (making them) any advice?
getting ready to make a brooder, I've seen many online, it will only be for 3 chicks for 2mths, any advice?

For only 3 chicks, I'd just keep them in a box in the spare bathroom when not snuggling them all the time! :)

I put mine in a large cardboard box & hung a car "trouble lite" over them. Used the commercial waterer, but used egg cartons upside down with some of the bottoms cut out for chick feed. When it gets icky & mashed, then you can throw it away & use a "new" egg carton. Also my chicks really thrived on our filtered alkaline water!

I start them in a kid pool...just remember they grow FAST and start jumping early. these peeps were only in this pool for about a week or so... it is worth your time to put together a wire cage easy to clean is a must and it helped me to be able to move them cage and all outside for their "hardening off" stage of their life and safe from the cat!the wire top is useful for the heat lamp too
