My name is Miko , we already have may and the last entry is way back, what is happening , so many things in this world good and not so good , dont you have any opinions ?, anyway i want to throw some pearls before swines, I am cooking with Aloe Vera gel, you take a strip appx. 2.5 cm wide scrape the gel and in the pot , it doesn,t taste and dissolves completely , It has kept me flu free all winter and pretty healthy too, saved and cured 2 cats the vet couldn,t with clavoloux , the stand I used to visit had a board with all the known diseases this plant is known to cure or at least reduce the effect, so people could reduce their medication, they sold aloe products too, if you want to play a healthtrick on your friends you have to find out first if they are intolerant to aloe!, because you can not taste it, onother old cure is sauerkraut, we use white sauerkraut, rinse it 3-4 times and than fry it in olive oil with a good swig of caraway seeds , when you think you finished frying you put a deep soupspoon of water in it and steamfor a few minutes, salt to taste, its good for all meats, and tastes cold good too, my mums first line of defence when something was wrong with us, I still use it to today and it never failed me, eat it as a evening meal, it will clear your system of all that yack , so stay home, I hope some of you take note, as I do not put something on blogs that dont work, i am not of the habit of teasing people , when I give tips like that I know it works , I use it when needed!it would be appreciated if some of you use my tips letting me know how they fared , so I can learn too! thank you , and yes I do have an inventing mind.... I like woodworking too, and all animals ..... untii next take care Miko

I like the name you chose. For some reason people prefer to chat on the other topic areas. Hope your topic takes off better than this one did.

Hi All! Thought I would share with you a new place in Grand Island, Nebraska. Tokyo Station on North Diers Avenue. It's just north of Wal-mart. The chef today served us beautiful sushi. We had Snow Crab Naruto and California Rolls. Yum! If you're ever over this way, try their delicious variety of sushi. They also have Habatchi chicken or beef plus, a Chinese buffet. Great food.

Georganne,
I use an auger to plant bulbs-Wouldn't do it any other way- I let the drill do all the hard work. I'm all for findinding an easier way of gardening -These old bones & muscles ain't what they use to be.

I am old enough to remember Tab Hunter, Terri, he was hot and I lusted after him when I guess my hormones had just awakened. Anyway, we are dry as well and very very humid, that is called North Carolina. I am the only fool on my street outside except the hired landscapers/grass cutters. I am only moving plants now due to overgrowth and can't in many cases because the bees said so, and have to wait until the evening when they go to sleep, I guess. Another issue I am dealing with is that I have a vein of what I called potters clay and the plants don't want anything to do with it so now have to buy top soil and make a higher hardscape to hold it all in. Would like to move the irises out of the non-bulb garden at the end of the driveway and onto this newly created place. I am not a fan of planting bulbs, at all! I could see buying an auger for dropping those pesky bulbs in the ground.

This is a fun idea. Here is some chit-chat. I had to let our gardener go a few weeks ago, and luckily the man who worked for the original owner/contractor of the house is available. He can do construction and gardening, which is a wonderful combination as I have lots of ideas for additions. He has been busy replacing broken hose and adding new lines for improved watering, especially since probably 1/3 of our water bill was due to leakage. And, I will finally have the watering system on automatic timer. I live in Santa Barbara and it has been horribly dry here, and the ground is clay and hard, good for olive trees, we have 40 and avocados which we do not have. Succulents do well, but I enjoy tending to an actual garden. We leave for Russia on Sunday, just two days from today, and will return on Aug 10, so hope my plants survive. We saw a good japanese movie - Departures - and guess what - the movie star Tab Hunter is in my exercise class. I'll tell him you all said "hello".
