Hi all, I would love a garden filled with plants from the bible. Any suggestions? Fig trees and grape vines are on my list! God Bless.

Well, the Bible mentions olive oil, garlic, leeks, wheat, barley, I think spelt. I could grow some of the things in small amounts, but our weather is zone 5, so I am limited.
I've heard that hyssop is in the Bible and that it is easy to grow in our area. Don't know much about it, except that it is a native plant.
Herbs: Dill, mint, anise, cumin. Onions, palm, melons, gourds, grains (wheat, barley).
Thank you all for all your suggestions!

Also, if you happen to know the verse where these plants are found in the bible, I'd love that information too!
Here is a link to a Garden filled with Biblical plants and links to many other Biblical garden resources.

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." - Genesis 1:29

Hi. I planted a Bible Theme Garden in my garden in Vancouver Wa. Shrubs that bordered the garden were Burning Bush, Lilly of the Valley Bush (Pieris), Heavenly Bamboo, Halo Dogwood, Rainbow Spirea and Rose of Sharon. I had Elija Blue Grass around the edge. Other plants were, Dove Columbine, Jacobs Ladder, Solomans Seal, Lambs Ear, Gentle Shepherd Day Lily, David Phlox, Jerusalem sage. If you like roses there is Josephs Coat. Have fun. I went at it a little different then some people but it was really fun because it was at the end of my driveway and when guests would leave I would give them a tour and tell them a little about the people in the bible. Have fun! Garden Blessings, Patti

God created all the plants so I never have felt the need to confine myself to the bible list. I have always grown mustard, Rose of Sharon, Jacob's Ladder and some of the others listed in other comments but never really had any organization about it. Right now my whole yard is torn up for a new septic system so maybe I might do a section as a bible garden. I have been looking for some inspiration and this may be it. I am also doing a medicinal garden and of course culinary herbs. I will be checking out the link to the prayer garden. Thanks!
Ezekiel 4:9 is one. I love the bread you can buy in the store with this name. God's recipe's are the best!
