Permalink Reply by Katherine V. Metz on April 18, 2011 at 10:07pm O.K. Where is zone 9 - sounds like down south. Tomatoes and peppers do o.k. in BIG pots - need lots of root room - the more the better - lots of sunshine and water. Never seen okra or radishes in pots. Radishes need to be planted real early in the spring in the ground and okra needs lots of room and heat in the ground, too. Hope this helps you.

I have grown veggies in black tree pots for yeas. The color helps heat up the soil and the veggies grow fast.
You can get the pots from any nursery. I have grown Tomatoes, peas ,carrots, cuks, herbs, lettace, peppers.
Use a mix of potting soil and compost, mix well. Fertilize with fish , or other organic food.
I've not heard of fish for fertilizer. Is it sold or do I compost it myself? Thanks!
Maggie my fish fertilizer comes in a One Quart white bottle. It says Alaska Fish Fertilizer. All purpose deodorized fish emulsion. Use on all indoor and outdoor plants. Won't burn
5-1-1- Natural Organic Based Fish Fertilizer.
It has the amount of tablespoons per gallon per square ft. on the back. Hope this helps.
THANK YOU PAULA! Will look for it this week.
