I go with a vine of any kind
To me there is nothing like a vine or some type of plant that acts as a vine. I love climbers, they cover a host of sins. My whole property has chain link, so wisteria, Virginia Creeper, cl. roses, morning glories, honeysuckle are all good for me. I have a Campsis that I can not get to grow for some reason, but I love them. Unfortunate for me, gophers invaded my yard in masses this year and I have sustained some casualties.

I hadn't seen a mole (except out in the countryside) in 43 years living in Washington state suburbia, but this year I have one who travels from my yard and back through 3 neighboring yards.
Of course, he only eats worms and bugs, not my plants, so it could be much worse (though I don't think we have gophers here)! -
