Priscilla Bear in mind i have no idea what you are doing . but i know this is cheep but tarps can be painted and on used . as coverings and clear plastic can be done ok , just a suggestion for  extra room and maybe not have to go to the garage .

Hi guys! Its been a while and Ihope everybody's fairing well with your gardens. A few friends and I've been planning a garden bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law, but our weather has been freaky lately. Hot, hot hot then sudden storms that make big messes. Hard to plan around that. But there's always the garage to run into. We'll decorate that too just in case! Gonna use some of your deco tips, thanks

John what did you use to hang them . I just saw ball mason jars that are on a crystal ,i think it is glass , candle stick and they took the metal lids cut a hole in it and put hurricane lamp wick in the jar . you fill the jar with keroseen lamp fuel now i think they would be pretty hung with some fishing line with a candle inside . i saw them in kinneys drug store .

Wow John! What a beautiful atmosphere you created. Love the centerpiece too! Did you build the pavillion?

Thea – I don't care for most string lights either.  The only ones I use are the round bulb type that you see strung-up in Italian plazas.  I use lanterns of different styles.  As you can see, glass versions are a favorite.

Here's a shot showing how I use mason jars.  Hang them up from a tree or pavilion with candles and they look pretty great!

Here are some shots from my first garden party of the year!  It was a good turnout and I was quite pleased with the way the decorations looked.  Really, it was mostly different lights – candles, string lights and lanterns.

This shot is of the inside of the pavilion.  The large center piece is a grouping of some of my favorite aeoniums and succulents.

The Buddha head shares space on one wall of the pavilion with outdoor artwork I made and lanterns hung at various levels.
