In the 10 years we have lived in Eastern WA, I have never seen a Spring with so much rain & cool temps before. My poor garden is looking pretty sad. The tomatoes are a soggy brown mess. I think I will start over this next week and hope the weather will hold now and we finally get some sunshine. The farmers are also having a hard time. Due to the rain the cherry crop is 2-3 weeks late. The helicopters are flying overtime to keep the water of the cherries and are trying to keep them from splitting and ruining the crops.

But the weeds don't seem to mind. They're growing like mad. I gotta get busy before it starts looking like a jungle out there. It will take me several days to get things under control.

Enjoy the sunshine, folks, it looks like we finally are getting some anyway...yay!!

I think you spoke too soon. We only got one day of appropriate seasonal weather and today we're back into the rain, and 50's. At least the day of sun was on a Saturday so I could actually get in my garden.
Yes, here in Spokane it was off and on Sunshine but not RAIN. Got as much done as this old body could do till dark. Went out to the hot tub about midnight and the stars were out, beautiful evening. My hubby says, "I don't think it's gonna rain tomorrow". Well, here it is. Just a light rain, no river running down my street today! Gotta love our Spring in the pacific northwest! Just look how green everything is!
It was sunny here yesterday but we had tickets to the ballet and spent all day in Seattle. Went to bed last night planning on hitting the garden today in that beautiful sunshine... oh well... best laid plans etc....I guess I'll clean house instead.. sigh.
Rain again here today too after a nice dry day yesterday, but the for-cast is for some sun the next three days....We'll see
I had another river running down my street this afternoon along with power outage! No GI and NO Garden, come on, that's not fair!
I'm starting to build an ark. Does anyone have any literature on ark gardening?
