The First HummingBirds Are Here :)
I realized on Mothers day weekend (as we were packing to go to Spokane to spend Mothers Day with the girls) that the hummingbirds were back. As hubby was packing the car a little green hummingbird thought his red shirt was a flower. Startled and chirping he took off when he realized it was a HUMAN!!!
Two days ago I put the feeder out and within 12 hrs the first little cute guy had found it. I just love the noise their cute little wings make and the high pitched chirp they make.
If you sit real still and don't move he'll feed 4 feet away from you as his little nervous head scans for anything scary.
I look forward to watching them for the next 3-4 months buzz around and enjoy their tiny presence. They sure make me smile :)

Today as I was sitting outside, two hummers came to the feeder and started fighting over it. One chased the other off...how cute!! They're so much fun to watch :)

Cute picture. The hummers are getting down right insistant around here. Don't dare let the feeder go empty. We had four of them battling it out the other day. I love watching them.

I used to have hummingbird feeders but gave it up because those little buggers are voracious! I was making that silly, messy sugar syrup constantly! This year the memory had faded enough to where I was reconsidering my decision and I actually priced a couple of those really pretty blown glass feeders. But, I've noticed this year tons of little hummingbirds around my hardy fuschia plants. Yay! All the benefit, none of the bother!

Today my husband and I were sitting on the patio talking and a hummer came in and took a bath in my fountain about three feet away then came and buzzed around my head, went up to the grapvine and preened her feathers after her bath. Mighty bold little thing.
