I have a concrete planter on my front porch that only gets sunlight a few hours in the afternoon.  I need suggestions on what plants I could use in it.

Joyann, been by there so many times while working that area.  A friend posted photos on facebook last week.  I had no idea it was so beautiful!  Also used to drive by Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville and have yet to see it! Hopefully soon!  Will check your photos.  Thanks.

Just wanted you to know I just recently came back from a trip to Rome, Ga. while there I visited the Berry college campus. If U are ever in the area it is a must see site! Plus it is free to tour the outdoor campus. Check out my album Rome,Ga for some special pics.

Anyone interested in growing a vegetable garden or gardens and then providing some of the produce to your local food pantry?

Many food pantries don't supply fresh or frozen veggies. The poor, needy, elderly, indigent, and disabled need your help, as most food pantries provide canned & packaged foods filled with sodium, sugar, and preservatives. WE LOVE OUR CHURCHES AND ORGS THAT PROVIDE FOOD PANTRIES AND JUST WANT TO COMPLIMENT THEIR SERVICES WITH HEALTHY VEGGIES!

NEXT YEAR, WON'T YOU JOIN US? Fields-4-Folks, F4F-CA, CAP-ON! -- These are some of the programs you can take part in. go to www.communityfreeservices.giving.officelive.com and http://communityfreeservices.giving.officelive.com/FIELDS4FOLKSPGMS....

Here in Athens we had a hard rain last week-rain guage showed 2 inches! Not a drop since. Even my heavily shaded plantings are requiring water every other evening.

I always heard of having a black cloud over your head was a bad thing but I wish for a black cloud, we get rain all around us and we get none. We were in the N. part of Dahlonega this evening and it poured and when we got home.... nothing not even a drop. Very depressing, it has been over 3 weeks since we had any rain... manybe longer.

Thought I'd join and see how things are going for everyone. got a nice rain but not enough to cure our dryness. May not have to water this evening, that will help.
Happy Gardenig everyone!!!

We survived with only a little water in an unfinished part of our basement. Hubby found a broken drain pipe that let the gutter water just drain next to the basement, he fixed it today. I got all the flowers done for the wedding, she wanted wild flowers and so with the flowers that were left in the garden and from the field around here I turned out some beautiful arrangements... here are a few pictures.

Hey fellow Georgians, wondering how all of you fared in the rains last month. Awful! My sister and brother in law were visiting from Spain, had gone to Raleigh for a week to visit our Mom and returned that Monday when the hardest rain hit. From the GA border on they had a mess to drive through and were rerouted several times the closer to home they got. Hoping you all were spared flood damage. We got enough water in our basement from run-off to cause us to have to take the carpet and padding out. all the tennels from chipmunks, rabits and whatever under shrubs I think created way fro water to go where it was unwanted.
