I love creating new areas in our garden always managing some sort of hardscape project in the process.  We are pretty well finished, but there is always the opportunity for change!  My husband and I had a very large project when we built our pond several years ago hauling all the rock from a nearby mountain.  For a time we actually had a cement mixer and also made stepping stones, benches and tables.  The 100 lb projects have lost their appeal with our aging bodies.  My next project will be cement leaves using our gunnera leaves.  The first picture is the completed pond and the second one is me scrubbing rocks to be cemented into place.  Whew!  I wonder if I could haul those rocks today?

Diana Alva, i like what you made, do you use fast setting concrete? would you be able to give a more detailed description of how to do this work of art, it looks lovely and gives lots of idears too!

Hi all!  I just finished a couple stepping stone projects around my yard.  You can view my photo albums at

http://www.garden-share.com/photo/albums/circle-pavers  and

http://www.garden-share.com/photo/albums/stepping-stones-art-project  I took inspiration from both from my garden & my interest in mid-century/art deco design.  Happy Memorial Day!

georgeanne, I am Miko from OZ country love your art, gives me new Ideas, a table would look stunning like that ,coffeetable, talking point, how long I mean how fast do you have to put the pieces into it before the fast setting concrete sets!, if you were to do the outside of a black compost bin like that would that stop the composting as black draws heat , or would you still have the same outcome and have a piece of art to look at , rather than a large black compost bin? please help!

Does anyone else make things with hypertufa in this group? I just started last summer, and am looking for new ideas!

I don't know about the URL but I did watch the video yesterday. Just go to the group and find it, it still plays without problems.
