Today I cleaned up the rock garden, and for some reason the columbine is still green, usually it's died back already so my hen and chicks and stonecrop can shine.

I don't know what mother nature has in mind with these changes that are happening. But I hope she figures it out soon.

Clock on it is off by one hour!! just saw that!! It is 79F as it is in the bathroom window so it is hotter their! 75F in the house.

I will have to move my tall cactus as it is just to hot their and the sun is swinging more back to the west now, to hit them all day. NOT good.. With the rain coming, they need to be under the east side eves anyway.. Some of the purple queen plant may go back to that corner for more shade for them.. I have lots rooting right now!!

Sounds great on the new plants. I bet U wil get it going soon.. U are getting a lot of rain lately.. Rain and cooler temps for a few days starting mon nite..  I placed a inside/outside thermoniter out in the rock bed and it is 128.F right now!! THAT is hot!! It is 95F.  Rocks do hold in heat from the sun so working on a shade deal for it. Got new succulents as they are on sale so it will be full!! Ah work in progress!! Hugs to U girl and get some pics posted when U can!!

I haven't done anything in the yard yet. Went on vacation and 2 weeks later the entire back yard is full with Milk Thistle and other weeds. So we have to take care of that, first. But ever time hubby is home to be with me outside it's raining.

I've gained many plants from my vacation, so I've been potting up those for the past 4 weeks and still have some bulbs to pot up before I'm done.

Love what is going on at your house. Nothing like having to add more Rocks because the plants are doing well. :)

Ah, pic header is back. so the before I started to what I have right now. Bricks in back are 1/2 buryed to hold my tall cactus that are in pots. Tall rocks to hide the pots mostly. Rocks in bed are not staying.. Got it going just need to fine tune it. Going to move wheel barrol and make it bigger.. THEN it will be a rock succlulent bed!!

This does not look like a succulent rock bed. to over grown with others..

Cleaned all that out and placed it else where.. Not like I want it, but close. I wil redo the rocks some, and make it bigger to make it a nice rocked succulent bed. I hope!! More pics next week or when I get it done. loluck!!

So how is everyones succulent beds doing?? Robin, did U redo yours yet?? I finally got most of the rocks in, just the other day, so I have been procastenating just fine lately.. cough, cough.. I had to have help moving the rocks and all. I have it sort of done but long way to go too.. I looked at it and the rocks stil left, so I am going to do the WHOLE area to a succulent bed! Why not.. No where to load pics here. I wil do so later I guess.

Well, it's been awhile.

Here's an update on my hen and chicks and other sedums and stonecrops.

The winter was rough took out 2/3's of my Hen and Chicks, the Sedum are doing fine, and the winter also wiped out alot of my stonecrops. It's so sad. But now I know what a polar vortex will do to my garden. Also, lost other things like Iris and a bunch of other things :(

It's been an extremely long winter and it's not done yet. I'm so craving gardening.

Love the rocks, and can't wait to see the bird bath when you are done. You definately scored there.
