Indoor plants seem to need more than outdoors, Marianne, but I would still use a weak mix often.

Thank you Keryn, you obviously are fertilizing just right!  Mine are indoors, but it has been a relatively cool summer.  I will try just a little fertilizer.  At least the plants look healthy and still alive!

I don,t fertilize very much, under trees mostly because the trees take from the plants under them. I use a week naturally manure liquid that I make in a 40 Lt container. Put a bit of manure in the bottom of container and fill with water and let rest, stir a few times. Water it down too a weak tea, before putting on plants. You can certainly kill plants with too strong a fertilizer.

Thanks Marianne, not sure about your climate. Mine does not get below 30 f , it would need to be under cover if you get colder than that. They do need sunshine to flower for part of the day, not full sun.

Your orchid is incredibly gorgeous Keryn!  Mine look good but have not bloomed.  Maybe some fertilizer today!

This is its spot outside, stays there all year under a weeping cherry. Very shaded in summer and it gets the winter sun. They start to flower in my winter and will be dormant during summer.

This is the Cymbidium Orchid I was tring to get to bloom in July.

I'm not putting any house plants outside too much dust and bugs around here. Hoping to get the porch glassed in some day right now it has corrugated fiberglass blocking the sun. This place doesn't have very many places to put plants. Then in front of the windows they put heat/cool vents. Then when I get the South side all open to the sun my view will be that ugly trailer grandpa put there in the 70s.

Looks like you are getting settled again Vicky, you might have to shift them around until find the best spot. Have you got a veranda, I think your schlumbergera would do better with more light and fresh air. They like it warm , bring back inside for winter.

Wilma's mom's plant really looks sad since the move and it is sitting back there in the dark.
