I recieved a Humming Bird Feeder for Mother's Day. =0)
My daughter said it takes a special combination of Sugar, and Water. And I would need to put Red Food Coloring in it as well. Can anyone help me out here. She doesn't know the mixture, Iv'e e-mailed her Mother-in-law but haven't heard back. And I am really wanting to get it out, to see what happens!
Thanks! =0)

I do boil it for a min or 2 and cool before putting in feeders. Our Hummers came early this year they were here at the last week of March well 1 anyway and more now.I was surprised I believe they came because we had an extremely mild winter.

Just got a new hummingbird feeder today. Its is a HummZinger by Aspects. The recipe that came with feeder says to one cup of boiled water to add 1/4 cup sugar. (4 parts of water to 1 part sugar). Cool before putting in your feeder. The instructions also say do not add food coloring or dye. Everything I've read lately says the red food color is bad for the hummers. My feeder cover is red, so the color of the feeder will attract them.
