The white lilac that I moved with me in the winter bloomed fine but it's leaves don't look as happy as before I moved.  I thought it was temporary but about a month or so ago it got some kind of fungus and the leaves look awful.  Made my own remedy from a book with baking soda, dish soap + water.  It probably had alot of stress and became weak.  Any suggestions, think I will get some dried manure they love that in the fall.

Summer's coming to a close and I'm already anxiously awaiting spring so I can see lilacs again.

I have a lilac bush and had to temporarily transplant it to a bucket while our swimming pool was dug/installed.  It spent 6 weeks on the back patio in the bucket and we had many days over 100 degrees so some of the leaves began to dry.  I was just able to transplant it back to the yard and I hope it is happier there.  I wasn't sure where to put it and how much sun it tolerates but it is in the North yard next to a corner of the privacy fence.  It will get direct sun in the morning and will be shaded for the afternoon.

The white lilac below is the most frangrant lilac I've ever encountered. I'm not sure of the name anymore for I bought it for my husband years ago, but it is truly our favorite flower in the garden, year after year.

Yes, I've got new lilac bushes from suckers but it may take 2 or 3 yrs to bloom.  Had to move my 3 yr old bush last winter and the leaves seem to point downward and was thinking if it was happy the leaves would be more upward.  Also, my neighbors two established lilacs are darker green leaves than mine.  In the past I know they like dried manure in the fall.  It did wonder for my MI ones years ago.  I just hope it will adjust ok seems to not have grown much the past 6 mos. since the move.  I

Wendy do you already have a lilac bush in your yard, look around the bush are they any little sucker bushes that you can dig out and start a new bush from that. That is how I started my ones in the backyard and on the side of our bank, dig them up and transplant them with some good compost and mixed with some sand.

How sweet, a Lilac group, heheh!  My favorite for the fragrance since I was a little girl!  Does anyone know how I can cut and start a bush from another?  I have no clue on this and would love to start one.
