We do have Roundabouts in Oregon and they still confuse me. We don't have any on major roadways however. I have driven in both Ireland and Scotland and found I had to concentrate to stay on the right side if the road. Several times I got into the car on the wrong side too.

Dear God...NO roundabouts in the U.S.? 

I'll let ye know that I would never drive abroad either, Spain,Philippines..etc....all drive on WRONG side of road anyway..LOL!

Catherine..I'd take two sensible days too, when the boys were at school in Scotland, but my American friends mistook the difference in our roads when compared to theirs.  On our roads you have to drive we have roundabouts & such...it is very rare that we can sit back & cruise.  In the end we used to ferry our friends, it was safer for everyone...

Christine..my brother lives in Herts, and it takes him 2 days to drive to Aberdeen,where his son is at Uni..!

Reminds me of the American friends who have visited me, and thought they would drive up to Scotland...in a day!!  They did 2 circuits of the M25 & then came back quivering with exhaustion...LOL

We were on roads that said "No Buses or Lories" I was ok since driving is backwards there for us, I was on the inside...lol totally freaked hubby out though.

Well, touring coaches do the Ring of Kerry. They have "lay-bys" dug out at sides of narrow roads ;)

Yes, I don't think it would be allowed by the Ring of Kerry.

I didn't understand the signs showing cars falling off the road until we drove through the areas where you could just fall off the side of the road...lol
