Some of the jars of Blackberry Jam I made from the wild Blackberries we picked up by the river.  I ended up making a second batch as the first lot turned out so good. So very cheap to make and better than anything from the supermarket!

Fresh cucumbers and onions transformed into bread and butter pickles makes me glad in winter that I garden in summer  ;^)

What can I do to make Organic Grape juice?

I did up my Choke Cherries but they made a very runny jelly more like a pancake syrup!  I put 12 cups of cherry juice and 6 liquid paks of Pectin ($11 worth) and 20 cups of sugar.  I don't know why this just isn't enough pectin as it is runny

Noelle, That's a really great idea... next year I will handle the Peppers like you as I think I should have gotten allot more Pepper crop than I did.... I followed the idea from the Garden Center here up in Northern Minnesota.

In terms of crowding peppers, I have found that it results in much smaller plants and/ or peppers. What I do though, is I plant a few of my peppers close together in a pot and then between mid and late July I transplant them to the garden with plenty of space. They will take off and really do well for a nice end of the season harvest. It allows me to stagger the harvest a little which is nice.

Has anyone experience with crowding Peppers in the garden?

This year I was given a tip about crowding my Peppers , as I guess they love to be all together its my first time doing this.  Since I live up north I put them crowded them together in a pot, and I plan on taking in the pot when it gets to frost here.   I hope it works, it seems as if they might be mighty small peppers!
