A large shade tree like Hackberry, Red Oak, White Ash, Green Ash, Blue Ash, Redmond or Littleleaf Linden, or Honeylocust should be planted to the left of the house in the front. An island of three small ornamental trees like Serviceberry with Creeping Junipers as Bar Harbor or Hughes around their base can be put to the right of the yard towards the road. Needs some foundation plants near the house, though all those plants should be short and no pointed or columnar forms used as most homeowners like to break the landscape design rule that says that only spreading plants should be near the house to tie it into the ground rather than have pointed evergreens emphasizing the vertical aspect. Use some boulders in the ground with some flowers around them. Much depends on how green the owners' thumbs are and how much they like garening or landscaping.
