Me too, it sure is, have some zucchini and cucumbers I am trying to keep alive on the deck to get them in the ground almost afraid to transplant anything because of the stress it will put on the plant trying to adjust to it's new home. It is suppose to rain from what I understand this week, we could sure use some after all the wind drying out everything. We just put in a rain barrel so we will finally get to collect some of the run off.  Blessings in keeping your little plants alive through these few hot days.

Thank you Sherry!  It is a chore keeping the little plants alive in this hot weather alive!  I hope it will cool down and act like spring again soon!!!

We did have a really good tomato crop, grape and regular size tomatoes and also green peppers and did get a couple of butternut squash (no problems with that plant. We introduced the vegetable plant in with the flowers, some didn't do so well together, perhaps it's where they were planted, live and learn, trial and error.

I too had trouble with my zucchini plant, got one ripe vegetable off of the plant then the plant base got mussy and died. I remember when we lived out on the farm they would get squash bugs and it reminded me of what the plant looked like then, I should have put some powder made for squash bugs on it but didn't get to it in time. I don't know if I will try it again next year, hardly worth it for such a small garden as we have. Does take up a lot of room as well, which I don't have, unless I can find a differnt space. Will shop the farmers markets around here which are very good and a lot less work and fun to go see what they have and support the farmers.

I'm from Norfolk. We've been picking sugar snap peas, radishes and received a few zucchini from our neighbor. This is our first year planting a garden and actually attempting to fill a flower bed. Slow moving with the baby and all...

Is anyone else having issues with their zucchini? Mine only get about 4 inches long and then the turn white to yellow and fall off. I noticed they're mushy too. What's up?

Hi Everyone! Thought I would share with you a new place in Grand Island, Nebraska. Tokyo Station on North Diers Avenue. It's just north of Wal-mart. The chef today served us beautiful sushi. We had Snow Crab Naruto and California Rolls. Yum! If you're ever over this way, try their delicious variety of sushi. They also have Habatchi chicken or beef plus, a Chinese buffet. Great food.

Greetings everyone! How has the weather been? It was down to 49 last night in Lincoln. I guess that's a record. I hope it doesn't stay this way as I am still waiting for my veggies to ripen... How are your gardenes doing? What is ripe? What is blooming that you enjoy? Deb
