My clubs stand, we did not win, we did have one guy who got best plant type in show. Points are added up from awards given to orchids types and this determines the over all winning club not the one who has the best looking stand. However you do get points for your display.
Masdevallias from the show.
Black orchid , not sure what type.
Brassolaeliocattleya also from the show.
Oncidium from show.
Oncidium, not mine, its one from the show.
My indoor Orchid garden, most are the ones I was given by a guy in the Orchid club, they are sending out spikes and it will be fun to see them for the first time.
Phalaenopsis, Moth Orchid native to South East Asia, a new buy for me, so I can not put it in the show, that would be cheating, I learnt years ago, that you might be able to fool other people but never yourself.
Side by side you can see how much it grew in 2 weeks but not enough. SAD
Moved this Cym inside to try and get the spears to grow and open in 3 weeks for the Orchid challenge our club has entered.
They are growing about an inch a day in the warmer conditions, but I will need luck for it to be in full bloom.I think this is tactics by the Shepperton Club, to run the challenge so early. They have a lot earlier season than clubs down south and will have early blooms.
