Pretty cynthia, go to Goodwill and see what they have to offer, or you can get the plain terracotta Orchid pots at lowes for cheap, they do have fancier ones also.

Robin I love the tea pots! Very  pretty. You might want to drill

holes.I am looking for a large pot for my phal. It is too heavy for the pot that it is in.  My smaller phal is blooming. Actually one of the clones is blooming.

Hello Everyone, I picked up these cute oriental tea pots and I want to put these orchids in them. What do you think??? If necessary I can drill out holes in the tea pots.

Air circulation helps, too.  A ceiling fan or small table fan in the area helps too.

Lileen,

I have discoverd that with violets and orchids if they get some

natural sunlight they have less chance of getting it . My violets

had a mildew problem, they were not getting enough sun.

I give my orchids dome sun , but I am in zone 5 so the sun is

not as strong as in southern states.

Hi Everyone,
I have a few pots of Cattleya orchid (including my profile photo), and at different times they were infected with fungi. The other species have never been affected. I have tried to read up on its care but never found any cause, or how to avoid it.  Does anyone have answers?

Thanks for the link. I was looking at a light fixture that comes with a frame. It's meant to sit on a table . I really don't want to mount one from the ceeling right now. The fixtue looks like the one in the link.

Cynthia, you aren't that far away from me. I'm in Roselle (near Schaumburg)

Hausermann's in villa Park is having an Orchid Show and Sale thie weekend Feb. 24-26 and March 2-4 from 9am to 5:30pm

2n124 Addison Rd. Villa Park, Il 60182 it's right off of North Ave. I already posted the one happening at the Botanic Gardens.

I've lived out here for 23 yrs and I've never gone to Hausermann's even though it's 20 min away. I've always felt it was a dangerous place to visit being so close...lol

Robin, I don't know if it would be too moist. I doubt it.I would just watch and see how it does. If it starts to have problems then I would move it. I don't have any of that variety yet. I hope to get one this year.

I wanted to put my 2 new ones in with the other ones, but the woman said it would be too moist?  The pots sit on a moss bed and I water the pots every 2 weeks.

"I hear you, Lynda, regarding getting out in the garden whenever you can. Sorry to hear you are dealing with some health issues but it looks like you don't let that get in the way of creating beauty in your garden."

"Charlotte, I do feel blessed that my husband shares my passion for gardening. Your harsh climate in Oklahoma does make it especially challenging for you, but I'm guessing it also makes gardening even more rewarding when your efforts pay off."
