I thought it would be fun to post the plants that you vowed "never again!" Maybe you were disappointed in its performance, or it spread like crazy or made a mess. For me, late last summer I ripped out all my lamb's ear (a few bits came back, that's okay), those orange "ditch" lilies a neighbor gave me a few years back, and the evening primrose that took over and choked out its neighbors.

Any one else?

Chinese Lantern.  I have always loved this as a fall flower arrangement plant and thought "why not plant one".  Well, it grows like a weed and is taking over the garden where I planted it.  I planted it two years ago and pulled everything out last year, or so I thought.  It is all over the garden again.  Very invasive and looks like a weed.  If I get rid of it I will go back to buying them for my flower arrangements!

My pretty blue flowering, red and green leaf ajuga has taken over my beautiful garden bed in the backyard, and the cute little pink primrose is also taking over.

I  also like your " drinks roundup for breakfast " comment. I just broke down and bought some roundup since digging up and giving away plants is taking forever to cleanup the garden bed.

My yucca plants in the front yard garden bed got too big and messy looking so I had them dug out by my lawn guys and they keep coming back.

I also warn everybody about these invasive monsters when I give them away. I no longer get excited when people tell me " it spreads".

Lamb's ear is a good one, but I'd also like to add the orange tiger lillies (is that what they're called?) that grow wild along the side of the road.  I dug up a couple across the street from me and planted in my flower garden 2 years ago and now it seems they are growing in places that I never planted them! Holy mackarel! They're pretty, but I only wanted a couple of them!

I am having nightmares getting rid of wandering jew. It really took off in my garden. Yes it is a pretty little flower but it is evasive and I don't like it. I am just ripping it out as to oppose of using roundup because there is other nicer flowers growing near the same area.

I have to add that "castor bean" was not a good idea to plant in my yard cause I like my kitty cats to be able to go outside and enjoy the front yard.

I have learned to pay attention when gardening guides warn that a plant is invasive!  Vinca, lamb's ear, purple loosestrife, sweet woodruff, aegopodium podagraia..I have fought these battles!

Hummingbird vine.  We thought it would look nice on the trellis, but it looks like a bad haircut, instead - sticking up & out the top!  Plus, new vines are growing everywhere we do not want them, including through the asphalt!

jan they are magic lilies, resurection lilies or voodoo lilies. the foilage dies off and then they bloom.
