Those are the wildflowers I expected to see when I went to the nature preserve yesterday--but we are so behind this year. The skunk cabbage was all there was. Maybe in a week or two . . . Thanks, Randy, for sharing your "southern" perspective. Beautiful pictures!

We're a month behind where we were last year in Wisconsin, but I did find skunk cabbage blossoms in the woods today.

Randy beautiful as usual. Love seeing all of the different kinds of ducks you take pictures of. Really any of the wild life you take has been great!

I have been busy taking pictures almost everyday but haven't posted any here for awhile. I've been using a 500 mm Sigma lens on a Canon 50D body. Here are some pictures of some Ducks I took this week.Blue Wing TealWood DucksMale Wood DuckHooded MergansersRinged-neck Duck

all the pics of the Eagles are wonderful,I've seen one only one in my life ,what a thrill. The Bluebird is my favorite though,we have them raising in our yards.Hope to get some good photos when I get a new camera we've had a couple looking over one of our houses a couple weeks ago,I hope they decide to stay might be a little early yet not sure.

A closeup of an Eagle I saw today. I was doing some work at my camp site on the River this morning and missed some eagles fishing while I was working. It is hard to keep your mind focused on your work when there are so many distractions,Eagle Talones

Wonderful pictures Kathleen. I have been taking pictures of Eagles and spending time near the Mississippi River. Cute little Bluebird at Putney LandingBridge to No Where on the Mississippi River

Love Those Phlox!

"You won't regret planting these phlox, Audra. The number and size of the blooms increase each year and they bloom for almost two months. Definitely the highlight of our late summer garden! (Warning: groundhogs love to eat these -- especially…"

Lots of Summer Color

"Agreed, Lorraine! Between the need for water and the weeds, having a nice lawn really is a challenge. We have a lawn sprinkler system but need to have it adjusted because certain parts of the lawn (like this part) don't get watered. Even though…"

Rudbeckia Starting to Bloom

"Lorraine, this bed probably started with about 8 plants five years ago. They spread like crazy and make quite a statement in the mid to late summer garden. We can see this patch from our kitchen window and it is so bright and cheerful. Here is a pic…"
