Holy cow Diane! You're actually pretty lucky. There was a particular tom not too far away from us a couple of years ago that would attack anything, and even got on cars...

Thought I'd post this shot of a couple of birds protecting their territory on a bike trail here in Milton, Florida.

Nice pansy close-up, by brenda. Good poetry, that reminds me that I must check out some poems by Robert Frost.

I can't sem to find the right spot, but kendra asked me about planting bulbs. One plants hardy bulbs like tulips, daffodills, crocus, hyacinth, snowdrops, scilla, etc. in the fall so that the bulb can go thru a cold period so that the plant hormones will allow the bulb to form flower buds for the spring. No cold period of about 2 to 3 months means no flowers.

These photos show up fine, a few at the beginning seem too big though. Not a problem. :-)

The rain has taken most of the leaves off the trees and now everything is bare but at least I have these to look at and remember the glory of it all..

We Still Have Hummingbirds Visiting!

"Linda, I was really surprised to see the hummers today. There were two of them flying around together and they came often to our feeder. They are usually gone for the winter by now. I think these two better get on the road soon!"

Formal Beds in Late Summer

"Thanks Joan. Lorraine, yes, I really wish the growing season was a bit longer. I will have to google "viscaria" -- I'm not familiar with them. I agree that potato vines are rather vigorous and can take over a planter. That's why…"
