Poor country boy gardening is when you want or need something for your garden and can't afford it. So you get creative on how to get it trading or bartering for it. digging it up out of an empty field or off the side of the road or a neighbors yard.

Comment by Jon S. z7 tx God blessed the USA on February 25, 2012 at 10:59pm Catherine not only sprinkle the seeds make designs or spell words with them like "mind your own business"
most wild flowers are considered weeds
Comment by Jon S. z7 tx God blessed the USA on February 25, 2012 at 10:55pm Robin if it's not there yard and garden not there business period. tell them to close there eyes when they go by and try not to run into the neighbors house doing it.
Gotta be careful with some wild flowers or they will take over he world and be considered weeds.
Comment by Robin (N.IL zone 5) on February 25, 2012 at 2:14pm I've thought about it, but they are lawmower happy around here. and most have manicured gardens.
Comment by Catherine Cronin (Ireland) on February 25, 2012 at 2:08pm You should go around and "sprinkle" wild flower seeds everywhere, tell no one though..LOL!
Comment by Robin (N.IL zone 5) on February 25, 2012 at 1:56pm Catherine, they only enforce the rule if someone complains about it and the local complainer has native plants growing in her front yard. Though I don't think she knows it...lol
Comment by Catherine Cronin (Ireland) on February 25, 2012 at 1:40pm Wild flowers bring bees and butterflies who are essential for pollinating. If they are not allowed in areas there will be no pollination for flowers and veggies. There is a program on English channel with a woman going around counties to promote wild flowers growing in parks and public places now. If they don't pollinate we will lose Apples,Pears, Tomatoes and many berries that need pollinating. Start a petition to grow more wild flowers,Robin!!!!
