Poor country boy gardening is when you want or need something for your garden and can't afford it. So you get creative on how to get it trading or bartering for it. digging it up out of an empty field or off the side of the road or a neighbors yard.

Comment by Jon S. z7 tx God blessed the USA on March 7, 2013 at 6:21am just saying there are uses for things tough thorny drought loving trees make great hedge rows in farm land stopping desertification. the wood is extremity hard and durable making great cheep wood for shipping pallets that can be reused many times.

Comment by Keryn ,Zone 10, Australia on March 7, 2013 at 4:37am They would not make it through customs they would destroy it without telling any one, they are very strict, even going from South Australia to Western Australia you are not allowed to take anything no potatoes or carrots they search your car, caravan, truck. Its a strange experience the border is half way across the Nalabor Plains (desert ) it takes 4 days to cross the plains and there are only roadhouses to fuel up and get supplies. At the border roadhouse there is a caravan park ( nothing else ) and everyone stays there to cook up all their vegetables so they don,t have to throw them away.
