I want to see your adventures in recycling. It can be anything made to be used for something else. Especially yard and garden ideas.

Repurposed baby crib 3 Replies

A friend gave me this crib when I was pregnant. It was the kind that drops down in the front and is unsafe to use, it also was missing a lot of bolts & we couldn't even figure out how it goes…Continue

Improve your bird feeders. 3 Replies

Why do they make bird feeders that rush the birds away?  My husband has helped me this winter to make the bird feeders better.  I don't get out and about as often as I would like to so I wanted to…Continue

Was just cruizing this site again not sure if this should go here or Flea market Chic but like the potting benches. Need to get one built some day soon. I have a red picnic table that the legs fell off of may try to turn that into a potting bench. It is a big rectangular one.

These aren't boots they are dressy shoes that a bussiness man wears so a bit harder to do.

you are so right Vicky...that's why I didn't buy them!!! my neighbor bought a matching pair of small garden boots last year at a yard sale and she gave me one.  I planted strawberry geraniums in it and it looks great...have to share a photo.  Inside you could just put the container in the boot rather than plant it..then you could take it out to water so not to make a mess...

Most of my shoes come from 40-60% off mark down prices when I can find them.

Comment by Vicky Myers on April 20, 2012 at 10:55am

Beth I just caught that those were probably $20 per shoe mine come as a pair. :)

I only pay $20 for tennis shoes that fit my feet then when they are all worn out on the sides or all dirty inside they become planters. I even take boots shoes from friends when available. The boots came from a fellow who is dead now so I cherish them. I even dug a nice pair of dressier shoes out of the trash from some other friends that I clean for. I haven't planted those yet. Kinda wish I could figure out a way for them to live indoors with plants in them.

thanks Glenda...Vicky I was in Garden Ridge this week and they have large tennis shoe planters that look very real that you use for planters...they wanted 20. each for them which I thought was a lot...but they sure were cool!

"Thank you, Keryn. Our street (and the whole town) does have lots of lovely big old tall trees. Our commute to and from NYC to work is about 90 minutes each way, but it's a price we are willing to pay to live here."

Fall Foliage on Trip to Pennsylvania

"Thanks Keryn. I was really impressed, too, with the fall colors I saw on this trip. I've never seen them so vibrant. Not all of the roads look like this in the U.S. This just happened to be one that was recently paved."
