Repurposed baby crib 3 Replies

A friend gave me this crib when I was pregnant. It was the kind that drops down in the front and is unsafe to use, it also was missing a lot of bolts & we couldn't even figure out how it goes…Continue

Improve your bird feeders. 3 Replies

Why do they make bird feeders that rush the birds away?  My husband has helped me this winter to make the bird feeders better.  I don't get out and about as often as I would like to so I wanted to…Continue

The picture is of an old metal crate with 12 compartments that I have had for years and always meant to do something with.  Well I finally did it.  My husband went to habit for humanity and bought a used cabinet door which he cut out the insides to leave me a frame for my metal box.  I stuffed the box with sphagnum moss and dirt and then planted mini hostas, mini mondo  grass, Corsican Mint and huchera.

I see that the paint is falling off of it when I water it. It was really bold red before, oh well.

Love, love the old school desk.  Vicky, nice job on your succulent garden.  I so enjoy seeing all the projects you ladies are working on.  So many great ideas.

I picked up some old metal tool boxes but I'm such a container freak that I don't have the heart to plant them as I may use them to store something in. grrrrr. I did get a file drawer that is just the right size for seed packs as long as they are the regular size not bigger. Also found a coal scoop, works great for potting soil & peat moss.

That IS a great idea mo puff.  I think that my sweetie would love to do that.  And what a great excuse to throw a BBQ party.  They could sign the bench with my Dremel.  Then I could stain and seal it.   I have been wanting to have a party so everyone could see the garden/ yard areas and all the changes we have done. Thanks for the terrific idea.

Victoria, LoOOooVE the work bench/ desk. Sad face for all the names that were lost from the top. Perhaps you can get your hubs, aunts, uncles.. and grandchildren to scratch their names back into this new top~?
