I just noticed those little fungus gnats in my seed starting room!  I think they came in with my coleus cuttings that were overwintering in the same room.  There's not too many yet, but I'm worried they'll soon turn into hundreds.  What can I do now to get rid of them or at least keep the population low before they cause damage?  I have seedlings just sprouting and don't want to lose any.

A method that works in my green house is to use sticky tape which you can get at any nursery or use Tanglefoot, it is extremely sticky and I spread it on yellow poster board which I hang above the plants or you could set it close. The gnats are attracted to the yellow and stick tight. The Tanglefoot is very thick and I use a pallet knife to spread it, it will catch any small bug,  you should use it until all the larvae/gnats are gone.
Thanks Diane - I put up a couple of those fly catcher tape strips and it's working slowly but surely.  I hope I can get enough of them before they lay their little eggs in my seedling trays!
