We started our onions and other early crops, and have our garden plan ready. I found a great garden planner that emails to remind when to plant what you have planned to plant based on your frost dates. Its at http://gardenplanner.thegardenerspot.com/

I am getting excited for spring!

Will warm spring ever come? I won't do anything tender til after Memorial Day this year! Even then it might freeze in Cache

Glad to find this group-- Any others from Cache Valley here??   I keep expecting to have crocus show up -- most of my snow is gone!

After such a confusing spring, I think things are finally up and running. It does seem like some of my stuff is a little behind, but I pray for a long summer. At 6800 ft (or whatever we're at) I will take all the growing season I can get. The late frost may have done my bell peppers in, but I will just keep hoping. Next year, I will keep the walls-o-water on through June. Ya never know around here.

YAAAYYY!! Finally got the veggie garden ready for planting. Yay for better weather. Of course, this is Utah, so I guess we are expecting some snow in a couple of days. Oh well, at least it's not going to last. Next weekend...planting!

I LOVE to work outside. Sounds like you had a very productive day. I, too, am the primary gardener in the family. I live in Duchesne County @ 6300 ft, so I have to wait a little longer than the Salt Lake valley to start. We were able to get some things done when it was warmer a couple weeks ago, but the last few days haven't been very comfortable. We do get a bit of wind here, so some days it's a little difficult. The "weather guru's" are forecasting a better weekend, so here's hoping. :) I can't wait!!!

Well, after another windy, cold day, I have decided that: Gosh Darn It! I am getting the rest of the garden cleaned up and ready to plant next weekend! No matter what! Pardon my venting, but like all other gardeners in no. utah, I wait all winter to start gardening. Time for a greenhouse, I guess.

Got some of the yardand garden cleaned up a couple of weeks ago, when it seemed like spring was here. Hoping I can get the rest done soon. I usually don't plant until Memorial day. This definitely limits my choices, but I still have enough.

Here we are! Spring! I live up north in Brigham City. Just finished cleaning out the perennial garden adding soil and compost to my raised flower garden and checking out all the new growth. I planted Clematis for the first time last year and they didn't really take off, even with the CandyTuft planted at the base for shade! When I first took a look at them today they looked dead but low and behold I see the beginning of leaves! Everything made it except one hyacinth. The Lavender looks like it had a tough winter but I think it will be fine! Can't wait for the first humming birds. Have noticed many eagles and hear geese everyday! Spring has sprung!
