Here's the Hyacinth Bean Vine flowers, will post the purple seeds pods next.  They're beautiful and grow about 8ft.  Leaves are dark purple at first and then turn green.

Joan, nice Virginia Creeper!  It sure is growing!

Cindy, thank you SO MUCH!!!  I'm going to see what I can get for you that you might want!  That's great about your son wanting some plants in his window!  Maybe he will take after you!

Grant, no signs yet, so I am going to replant.  Your is GORGEOUS!!!  I'm going to get them up if it takes me all summer!!!  I'm NOT giving up, especially after seeing yours!!! LOL!!

Finally someone is growing a vine I know, thanks Joan - Virginia Creeper.  The pics of your other vine are lovely, I have just never heard of any of them.  My white clematis opened today but I am charging the batteries for my camera so I can't take a pic.  Besides that it is up about about six and a half feet and I am only 5'1'" so I can't get up there to take a very good pic.

Do MG self sow?  I was hoping the ones I grew, for the first time last year, would reseed themselves but I haven't seen any sings of new growth.

Thanks for looking/commenting on the Merremia bloom, I appreciate it.  They're in full hot sun and seem really happy.  Cindy, I get the extra shade for some of your MG's helps them stay open longer.  How fun.  I really do love the amazing variety of colors and patterns mg's can provide.  Congrats on the Virginia creeper, Joan, that's fun.  Does it color up for you in autumn?  Looks very happy!  Take care all!

FOR the LOVE of VINES... HAPPY GARDENING !

Hi all, FINALLY I'm home during mid-day, LOL, having been out of town on the last week weekends, and then at work this week.  Anyway, here are a couple of pics of my mile-a-minute vine (Merremia dissecta) blooming away on a large metal arch in my back garden.  They can become a bit of a pest in some wetter climates, but here they are very well behaved.  Like morning glories, the flowers open in the morning, but unlike morning glories, these flowers last all day well into the afternoon hours. The vines are just covered with blooms now.  I hope you'll take a look and enjoy.  Barbara, any signs of growth from the seed I sent?  I hope so!  Happy vining, all!

Yes Joseph, it certainly is & thanks!

Cindy, I bought mine at WM last yr., so it's a little old, but it's about gone.  I need to buy some more VERY  soon!  Your puppy sounds like mine (my daughters)!  He's ADD for sure!  Good luck with your puppy & rabbit staying away!!

Cindy, I grow queen's wreath (Antigonon leptopus) aka "coral vine" in my garden and love it, although there are some other plants that go by the same common name.  I wonder if we're talking the same plant?  The seeds on mine aren't huge, so I'm wondering.  Anyway, I grow one type and love it.  Good luck with your seeds!

Wow!  I love all of the new pics everyone, keep them coming.  Such great blooms, and healthy, happy, vigorous plants!  All of you with four o'clocks are way ahead of mine, I'm envious!  I'll do my best to catch up, LOL.

Take care all and keep the pics and posts coming!

Grant

"Thank you, Keryn. Our street (and the whole town) does have lots of lovely big old tall trees. Our commute to and from NYC to work is about 90 minutes each way, but it's a price we are willing to pay to live here."
