Here's the Hyacinth Bean Vine flowers, will post the purple seeds pods next.  They're beautiful and grow about 8ft.  Leaves are dark purple at first and then turn green.

Hi everyone, just for fun here's a quick pic of my Merremia aurea in bloom.  I started the plant from seed a few years ago.  It was slow to take off, but now is a really vigorous vine, covereing a fun 7 foot tall iron arch in my garden.  Happy gardening!

Beautiful clematis, Victoria!  I sure wish they did better here.

It's hard to say from the pic, Joseph, but could that vine be Carolina jessamine?  Here's a pic:

Botanically it's known as Gelsemium sempervirens.  It sure looks like it to me.  Let us know if you decide on a positive ID on it.

Happy gardening all,

Grant

Could it be yellow trumpet flower?  Were there any hummingbirds nearby?

"Good eye Lorraine! Yes it is a fire dept. ladder that failed re-certification & was required to be destroyed. I drilled holes and screwed it to the support posts so it can't be used as a ladder. Works great for the hanging baskets…"

"I liked the Wowie Zowie type last year & this spring I was disappointed when I couldn't find those in the nursery as they grew better & brighter for me than some from the past. So growing from my own is the way to go."

"Lorraine, how wonderful that you have a greenhouse. I would love to have one. You are right that zinnias are very easy to start from seed. I just wish I had the room inside (or a greenhouse!) to grow more things from seed. "

"Actually I grew from seed this year in the greenhouse--a very easy one to start. So this fall I will save my seeds & see if they produce the same results."
