I HAVE PLANTED WILDFLOWER SEEDS WITH NO LUCK.  I JUST THROW SEEDS SPARINGLY.  SHOULD I COVER WITH DIRT ? THIS YEAR I  PUT THEM IN A SLIGHTLY WOODED AREA. DO I NEED TO GIVE THEM TIME TO GERMINATE ? I DID HAVE A STRANGE PATCH TO COME UP IN MY YARD LAST SUMMER.  DON'T REMEMBER PLANTING THEM AND MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE AREA. I DID TOSS WILDFLOWER SEEDS IN ONE OF MY FLOWER BEDS AROUND A TREE.  LOOKING FORWARD TO  WHAT IS GOING TO POP UP... HAPPY GARDENING.

This was my first year for a wildflower garden and am so happy with the wild lemon bee balm that is blooming right now with lavender blooms...also had alot of coreopsis in spring & summer!

Tried to find wild yarrow but had to purchase some at a local Nursery, was planning to get the Pomegranate dark red but then changed to the pink called Pink Grapefruit because the older blooms looked better in that shade.  Love the next season when it first comes up and has spread!

Wow, love all the photos below...BEAUTIFUL!  Planted a wildflower bed from seed and so far only Coreopsis & Black eye Susans came up but that's fine they were the same colors and it looks great!  Also, when I moved last winter I had brought my seeds from Dame's Rocket (lt lavender & resemble wild tall phlox) & also Virginia Day Flowers (royal blue blooms) by dormant roots.  They both are doing well!  So, am happy that I have some wildflowers in their separate spaces among all my other annuals & perennials!

I love my woodland poppies. They're blooming now, and will bloom off and on all summer...in deep shade. They spread, but politely, not invasive at all.
