Comment by Randy Anderson zn.5/Il. USA on January 21, 2013 at 5:10am Robin they say the best place for action shots is North of the Quad cities off 8o. I can't remember how to get to get to the lock or remember the nuber but it isn't very far from Alcoa. I think you were there last year. The weather has gotten colder and the River will start to freeze today and tomorrow which should get them closer to the Dams, for easier viewing. This year I have only been to Keokuk, Ia. Dam and the one in Gladstone. I'm going back down to Arkansas to see my Dad on Monday and won't be back till Wed.. Robin you should have a good time. Post some pictures when you get back.Eagle and Crow sharing Breakfast

Comment by Randy Anderson zn.5/Il. USA on January 20, 2013 at 6:25am Thanks for showing your pet Fran and the Crab on the toilet seat must have been a shocker. I have been out and about enjoying the wildlife in my area. I go almost everyday to the Mississippi River to look at Eagles this time of the year. Yesterday we went to Keokuk, Ia. for Bald Eagle Days. The lighting was wrong for taking pictures and the Eagles were in IL. across the River so we decided to go to Warsaw, IL. Here are some of the wildlife we saw there.Young American Bald Eagle probably in it's 4th year. Note it's dirty head and lack of a white tail
Juvenile Eagle landing on the Shore of the Mississippi River to eat it's catch. note the fish in talon.
Canadian Geese
Red Fox Squirrels chasing each other on a tree over looking the Mississippi River
