Red Tailed Hawks teaching their babies to hunt and fly 12 Replies

For the past several weeks we have been hearing the cries of the Red-tailed Hawk for several hours a day.   It is usually in the early to mid-afternoon.  They have been perching in the trees and on…Continue

Texas Armadillos in my Flower Beds 3 Replies

I found a large hole in my flower bed, yesterday. How do I keep armadillos out of my yard? I heard cayenne pepper? Or fill the hole up with the dirt and brush out the dog's fur and put it in the…Continue

Sharon your Red Squirrel is really cute compared to the one we call a Red Fox Squirrel. I love the Chipmunks but I only saw one here and that was in the house. The cats and dogs just looked at it while it was eating there food. I went out and got a livre trap and when I got home, they had evidently gotten tired of looking at it because it was in the dogs yard dead. Right now we have hundreds if not thousands of Eagles here in Henderson County. Here are some of the pictures I took yesterday.American White Pelican and a Canadian Goose with a fishMallard Ducks in flightEagle catching a fish

Here is the stinker that likes to chew on the wooden feeder we used to have out.. We just call them red squirrels.

Randy...your pictures are great...I wish I had the initiative to go out and hunt for wildlife on my own.....we do have eagles that fly over our bridges when we cross them in Appleton, Wi. but we are in a vehicle and they move so fast.

I do have plenty of squirrels and I will admit, I like squirrels. Even though they are stinkers sometime. We have a little red one that likes to chew on the wooden feeder my husband built. Basically a box so the larger birds couldn't get in it after the sunflower chips....we took it down for a while and put the chips in a wire cage.

Fran...I bet your were surprised to find him on the toilet . Luckily you didn't squash him...that would of been a real surprise to him and you if it would of been dark in there.

Here's Willie....our resident chipmunk. I can't wait to find his stash of peanuts that he steals off of the tray. I put them out for the birds but he can fit so many in his mouth the tray is empty fast.
