My sis got the dbl red a week or so ago.. very pretty.  I love having blooms into mid-fall here.  They're often the last ones to give up the ghost of all the bloomers.  I believe I've only lost one this spring and that's Diana Princess of Wales which they changed (the name) to Enchanted Lady, if I'm remembering correctly.  I won't replace it because it's the 2nd one I lost.. just not hardy enough here.

Tanya, I have Double Red KOs, a Sunny yellow and a climber Brite Eyes (sort of a salmon/pink). Ditto, June is bloom time but they continue right on into late September.

Arden, good for you!  My sister's Rainbow had blooms on it but I opted for the one with just buds at this point.  I've NEVER had a rose bloom here before June except the new ones I've bought.

A very white frosty morning here at 27º.  :-(  The good news is, looking ahead through May 8th, not even close to frost....YAY!  I just hope this one doesn't hurt those big fat buds on the tree peonies and clematis.  ??

Tanya, I was wrong. My knock-out roses do have a few tiny buds sprouting. 28 again tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Fun, huh Robin?  :)  Haven't looked at Lowe's yet.  Arden, that K-O rose I got is called 'Rainbow,' a single.  The nurseryman told us that it changes colors as time goes on.  Yes, those roses really are good, non-fussy~yet classy additions to gardens.

I was at lowes yesterday and picked up some clearabce items. one being a purple columbine for $1.50 that is waiting until it gets warmer out to be planted, will most likely go to seed before the transplant. Also, picked up some hen and chicks those too are waiting. The rest were houseplants.

Tanya, I love the knock-out roses. Very hardy, easy to care for and bloom like crazy. Mine are a few years old and are covered with leaves but no buds..got down to 28 last night but they seem fine.

It was brrrrr today... never made mid 50's but happily no monsoon winds like we've had lately.  My sis and I went nursery hopping.  It's almost as much picking out items for fairy and gnome gardens as it is picking out cool plants.  :)  I did get a couple plants though.. a Knock-Out rose and a reddish heuchera, neither of which I'll plant till it looks like we're safe from frost.  Neither are hardened off yet.. right from the greenhouses.  Frost again tonight.. hopefully May will be much kinder.. maybe as kind as March!  ;)

I've been covering everything when the temp gets to low.  So far things look okay!
