Comment by Robin (N.IL zone 5) on February 25, 2012 at 12:02pm Just wanted others to know that outside the southeastern part of the US they need special care to be happy. :)
Comment by Bob (Z9B Florida) on February 25, 2012 at 11:30am Robin .. Mo is over in St Augustine, FL and will have no problems at all adapting this idea. Check out her posted pics to see her yard... it's awesome!
Comment by Robin (N.IL zone 5) on February 25, 2012 at 11:03am For those interested in doing this, these plants do not survive in cold climates. and need high humidity to survive Like here in Northern IL. they would only be happy outside July-Aug then they would have to be brought inside.
Comment by mo puff on February 25, 2012 at 10:54am Thanks for the link ..and sorry for not reading the entire feed before. This is a must try for me and my neighbor.
Comment by Bob (Z9B Florida) on February 25, 2012 at 9:37am Hi ... some may want to go back to the beginning of this thread to find out where it was taken, who gets foto credit, food source (in U of F link,) etc. ... easier than me just posting it all again. :) I'm out collecting some of these for a garden share member in IL this weekend. They won't grow there but I think she has a special humidity rich environment worked out.
