Rebecca, We were working at a clients' house when we noticed the cicada had just emerged from the ground on to the tire of one of our trucks....I knew he would be killed in the street so I moved him to the Pin Oak trunk.  So his wings/body had not hardened yet and that is what gave him that irridescent quality.

Cool!!  The cicadas we get in Cincinnati never glow in the dark.
