Thank you, Joan. This tree has stayed in bloom MUCH long than usual this year. I think it is because after an initial wave of early spring warm weather, the temperatures cooled off a bit. It is supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow and 86 on Monday, so I think the flowers on this tree will definitely be gone by Tuesday or Wednesday. I have enjoyed it so much!

"That's interesting, Keryn. They do look a bit like gladioli, except the gladioli we have here don't make all of those leaves. (The leaves definitely remind me of irises)"

"Ive done some looking on the net, I think they could be a form of Gladioli nanus, or baby Gladioli. Gladioli or sword lily are South African  to tropical Africa. They are really an Iris. A lot plants came in the early days on sailing ships and…"
