Delphiniums are very finicky plants. They don't like hot, dry weather conditions which we seem to have a lot of lately. I have another plant in its 2nd year, bloomed nicely but not looking too good right now. Anxious to see if it survives.

These are gorgeous. I do not have a lot of luck here in Minnesota with delphiniums, not sure why. I have tried them for four summers now and they bloom but then whither away. They do not stand strong. In Michigan my mother grows beautiful, tall, strong delphiniums.

So beautiful! We tried to grow delphiniums one time and they did not do well at all. It was a sunny spot but they got black leaves. What did we do wrong? I would like to try again at our new house.
