Yes, I hope it continues. The Loropetalum is struggling. I just planted it in early spring while both it and the forsythia were in bloom. Since it is so hot and there's been almost no rain, the Loropetalum isn't doing well. Because the Forsythia was so big, I planted a very large Loropetalum so they could be buddies. Once established, both plants are very, very drought tolerant. But even drought tolerant shrubs need regular water the first year.
