puddlin pot

Puddlin' Pot for my butterflies. Even though my plants are just babies, I have already seen butterflies in the garden so I am very excited. I made this puddlin' pot for them so that they will always have wet sand to land on!

I love this! I didn't know that butterflies needed a wet sandy place for landing. I'm going to make one of these for my gardens. Thanks for sharing.

I have another idea.. there is a large fat flat topped planter at Lowes on sale.. I was thinking of filling it with sandy mix (for cactus) but sink and hide a clear dish of regular sand in the center.. making it hidden. I can plant my cactus or succulents in the surrounding sand, and the center can stay wet and it won't affect the other plants. The butterflies can land there, and in the outer area I can use mini succulents and cute little figurines and make a decorative scene!! Hobby Lobby has all sorts of figurines to make mini scenes in terrariums and I could get those!
