Thank you Jennifer, this is Shadow. I adopted her from the North Carolina Animal Shelter 6 years ago, she was in quarintine, and seemed like a little angel. When her 10-days were up, and as a stray, she was up for adoption, I had already made arrangement to pick her up. Little did I know that she had been scared out of her wits on the street, and had been severely abused. She would not eat, she was unsocial, with me the only person who could touch her. It has taken a long time, but she has blossomed into quite a character. I had gotten her weight all the way up to 6lb 4oz, but then I brought a dying dog home, which gave her an upper respiratory infefction, and her weight plummeted to 4lb 2oz. Her little paws are no bigger than a dime, and I had done every test in the book, and also got her teeth cleaned, although the procedure could have killed her. Today, she is a solid 5lbs. Mom feeds her every two hours, and she eats like a horse...3 cans of cat food per day. She has hyperperistalis, so her gut rumbles constantly. I have come to the conclusion that she has a very high metabolism, in the absence of thyroid disease, and at best, will always be gaunt. I am still the only one she will "love up" with head butts, trills, pawing, and laying on my chest, or next to my face on my pillow, until she is satisfied that I am asleep. Shadow is constantly marauded by Spencer, my 17lb kitty, but she can jump higher out of his way, and makes her perch the china cabinet. She is also my alarm clock. After I hit the snooze alarm 3 times, she takes it upon herself to softly paw at my cheek until I awaken and love her up a bit. Spencer puts me to sleep, and she wakes me up...hearlds my arrivals with high thrills, and never leaves my side while I sleep, except for a nibble or two when I sleep over 10-hours. Shadow's beautiful jade colored eyes, and soft nuzzles make my heart sing. Patricia
