View from the front porch

Scene from the front porch. What curb appeal? What curb? Forest Pansy Redbud and a Weeping Redbud, with Japanese Maples leafing out. The Viburnum macrocephalum (Chinese Snowball Viburnum) will be peaking soon. Already have to start mowing the lawns here.

Windchill in teens here early this morning when doing papers to customers. Stopped snowing before I went out. That is my day or should I say night, Willis. Time for hot drink. Sunrise just beginning here.

I agree - would be a fun way to help people and enjoy ourselves at the same time.

I walked around the circular road in the park Lyn.  Hope you can get to Moonlight Theatre. That is my favorite part of Sydney, Paddington area and Park. I stayed near the church  that has the Market on both trips to Australia. Neat items at the stalls.

Willis, would be great idea to do the tours for charity.

Nancy - am off to Centennial Park tomorrow afternoon/evening for the Moonlight Theatre!  Spending afternoon looking around park, then evening at other end where open air cinema is held.  Taking picnic etc and hoping for NO RAIN.  This is our 3rd attempt to get to this event as we have been rained out twice (Jan and March last year) These are literally raincheck tickets!!

Looking forward to our walk around the area as there is always something out in bloom there at Centennial Park.

Sorry Willis - feel as if I have hijacked your post!

Lyn, wished I had known when last over there. I stayed at two B&B's in Paddington area and both had nice gardens. Then there was Centennial Park with it's marvelous gardens. Would love to sell here and immigrate there, snow not my fav.

Willis, Sounds like our Open Garden Sheme here in Australa. Avid gardeners agree to open their gardens, big or small, to the public and charge an entrance fee of usually $6, which goes to their nominated charity. A book is published mid year that lists all the gardens in every state in Aus that are available for viewing in the following 12 months.
We have viewed some amazing gardens and you pick up such good ideas. It's a chance to be nosey in someone elses garden but all quite legally! Plus of course it has raised near $5m for charity since its inception.

Could donate to a chosen charity, Willis.

That would be fun.  I go to a lot of symposiums and as a result get to tour gardens in a lot of cities I'd never otherwise get to see.  But I do think that's something that G-S could organize, by geographical area, charge a slight fee and get some info printed up about each garden we'd see.

Wouldn't be neat if all of us could get a tour group together with Garden Share or many tour groups to visit others gardens. That would be U.S. neighbors since I don't know of any gardens nice like Willis's. Travel overseas to other gardens in the world we keep in contact with.

That would be great. I would love to see that.

Bambino bougainvillea recovered from winter April 2013

"Thanks, Nina!  These 'Bambino' types are becoming very easily available, so hopefully you'll find a local source too.  I love how compact it stays.  Happy gardening! "

Miracle-Gro commercial shoot

"Hah hah hah!  Thanks for the nice comments Nina and Anne.  It's really just a fun silly commercial and online banner ad, not a movie (I wish, hah!), but thanks for being excited about it!  Happy gardening and thanks again! "
