Okay, I know it's Michigan but the weather here is awful! I keep on waiting for the days of sunshine. The days of sunshine in a ROW! Not just one day sun and the next 5 cloudy and cold. Yuck! Planted a row of corn. A small row but I planted them in the wrong direction! Duh. If I would have let them continue to grow there I would have shaded my entire garden for most of the afternoon. Transplanted the little buggers once I figured it out. They had just emerged so the transplanting was a good… Continue

Hi Everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is Alice and I love to garden. I have had a pond in the past that I built myself but is now a dry river bed since I planted it under a Willow Tree. Too messy. I had no time to tend to the rest of my yard. Now that I do I have so much to clean up and take care of. We have an acre I work on and I'm thinking of getting rid of the large portions of grass and have a more natural look. I've looked at the wild flowers for my state and am totally new at… Continue

hi Alice! you must be dedicated to transplant corn. Sweet corn is wonderful though. We plant a few rows each year but always have to put electric fence around it to keep deer and raccoons out. The second year we planted it and were going to pick it that weekend the raccoons beat us to it and on Thursday morning we saw where the little buggers had destroyed the whole drop in one night! Made me sick. Since then... electric fence. By the way, I think it's voles that are eating your plants because moles only eat insects and voles love roots and plants. My friend has a real problem with squirrels eating her tomatoes and bunnies eating everything newly planted. Most kittys love catching voles, I'm sure my kittys have saved my garden year after year. Nice to meet you, the sun will come out, be patient.

Chickens are great pets! I let mine run around my yard only when I am watching them because we have stray cats in the area. If you do end up getting some chicks, then get the hens. Roosters crow non-stop, and then you can't control the population. Mine are bantams so they stay small, and it takes about two of their eggs to make a normal chicken egg. Love your art! and your puppy and cat are super cute!
