I have grown banana trees but only once did they produce any bananas. I think they need lots of water. The plants hold LOTs of water in their trunks. Mine froze this Winter."

Has anybody tried growing bananas in Zone 9? Logee's has TONS of tropical plants, including bananas, on it's site, but it's hard to believe they would grow in our dry heat...
