The scent of Autumn swirls through the air
leaves turning
fireplaces burning
steam lifts off the back of a mare.
Early morning brings the dew
temperatures fall
night owls call
Church potlucks and grandma's stew.
Harvest begins, rows of pumpkins and corn
Apple fritters
little critters
Doves in the barn mourn.
Kids are ushered off to school
crayons and packs
lunch sacks
learning…

Summer rain
barefoot walks
children's giggles
backyard talks
Family visits
iced tea and scones
fresh mowed yards
long walks home
Scents of flowers
summer romance
lights hung in trees
a couple's dance
Hard work all Spring
dirty nails, calloused knees
worth every moment
to dance…
